About the event
Join the Hoosier Herp Society for an adventurous Timber Rattlesnake hike in the beautiful terrain of Brown County, Indiana! This unique opportunity allows us to explore the habitat of one of Indiana’s rare venomous species, the Timber Rattlesnake. While we cannot guarantee rattlesnake sightings, the thrill of the hunt and the joy of being in nature make this an unmissable event.
For your safety, participants are strongly recommended to wear long pants, snake-proof boots, and snake gaiters. This hike is a moderate to strenuous activity and participants should be in good health. Remember, wild rattlesnakes should only be observed from a safe distance, and not approached, handled, or disturbed.
Please note that while we take all necessary precautions to ensure a safe experience, the Hoosier Herp Society is not responsible for any injuries sustained during the hike. All participants will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging the inherent risks involved in such an activity and accepting personal responsibility for their safety.
