Description
A leopard frog of open grasslands, browner than its northern cousin, with back ridges that break and jog inward near the hips. It reaches Indiana at the eastern edge of its range.

Prairie and plains situations, wet meadows and farm ponds
Reproduction
Breeding takes place in March and into early May. Males call from edges of marshes and other temporary pools in search of mates. Eggs are deposited in globular masses on sticks and aquatic vegetation.
