Description
A keeled sawback turtle marked by a bold square blotch behind the eye and yellow chin spots. It reaches the northern edge of its range in Indiana's southern rivers.

Aquatic insects, mollusks, crayfish, and plant material.
Habitat
Rivers and large streams with moderate current, logs, and aquatic plants.
Reproduction
Nests in sandy soil near water in early summer, laying 6-15 eggs.
